Welcome to Curtin Yoga Club

Are you in need of some time to escape your stress, deepen your connection to yourself and move in away that helps to release the tension formed from all of the tasks life burdens you with? Then the yoga club is for you.

We offer regular yoga events in a yin yang format that incorporates vinyasa and yin styles. You do not need to be an expert in yoga or Sanskrit as all movements are guided.

All you need is a willingness to find space within yourself. There is a level of difficulty that varies and you will be required to listen to yourself to prevent personal damaging as you progress. It is important to consciously move between the asanas/positions with care taking guidence from the instructor and then expanding into the position/asana in a way that doesn't cause any pinching, biting or numbness.

Most importantly have FUN and leave every event feeling newer and more free than you arrived.

Weekly Yoga Session
Curtin University room 400:249
12:30 – 13:30
Hi all, Weekly yin yang yoga session will be in room 400:249 on Wednesday 08/04 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Please make sure you aim to arrive at least 10 minutes early and grab a ticket, the spaces are limited and we have had a lot of interest this semester. If you don't think you will be able to attend after you have a ticket, please email me and let me know. This will allow me to cancel the ticket and someone else to come along. This is a mindfulness practice and is all about letting go of the stress of uni life for a little while. You will be guided through a restorative practice, beginning with breathing exercise to help you feel into the body and ground down. Then we move through a series of positions (asana) designed to warm, open and activate the fascial system. We will then spend some time in longer hold positions that are created to open and release specific joint capsules and their connective tissues. Finishing with a meditative shavasana (corpse pose), this allows you to let go of any tension in the mind and body. So when you leave you will be fresh and reset, ready to take on any challenge uni life has to throw at you. Please be sure that you are fit and healthy, yoga is still a physical activity and is by no means a treatment for any illness. If you have any concerns please consult your GP and let the instructor know. If this is your first session please print, read and sign the waiver, then bring it with. If you are under 18 this will need to be completed by a parent/guardian. Waiver: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1txxBmYFX8dyy2lUtEuTCp14jKfaxPirz/view?usp=drivesdk Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing you all on the mat.
